So what is 4-H you ask? It started as an agricultural education
program in the early 1900's. It is now one of the largest
organizations in the country and strives to develop youth as
individuals through community service and projects, teaching them about
how to conduct themselves in business like atmospheres, as well as
rural settings. It emphasizes public service and leadership
development. And it is a very well respected organization, recognized
highly by colleges and universities throughout the country.
It is not necessary to own any animals in order to be a part of 4-H.
It is just necessary to come with a positive attitude, to learn and
participate! 4-H is open to kids 8-18, with a "cloverbud" program for
those under 8 as of September 1 of that 4-H year.
